The Messiah is the most famous and loved piece of music over the centuries, worldwide. The 9th chapter of Isaiah is the heart and center of the climactic Hallelujah chorus of the Messiah, and reveals an actual prophecy foretelling the coming of the Messiah, the promised Saviour called the King of Kings, who has the government upon His shoulder; The prophecy was that He would be born of a virgin. Among other prophecies, this was glorious. Isaiah 9 is powerful, and I didn’t expect to be thinking of it during the election and the shutdown. A verse came to me, as I was fasting and praying, like many, many of us, for revival in the United States during this season of reset and testing. I heard the Lord speak a phrase to me- “Every warrior’s boot used in battle
and every garment rolled in blood
will be destined for burning,
will be fuel for the fire.” As I sought to understand this verse, I began to see that the weapons of an army would be seized and used to provide energy for those they sought to conquer. My husband gave me background on the battle chronicled here, using the Amplified Bible.
4 For the yoke of [Israel’s] burden, and the staff or rod for [goading] their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor, You have broken as in the day of [Gideon with] Midian.
This was the powerful battle (captured in the illustration above) of Gideon and his mighty men as they conquered their enemies by God’s Spirit and with God’s strategy. Our old friend, Mike Mosteller, told this story in a way that completely captured the heart and kindled faith. As Gideon’s army used trumpets, beating clay pots, and shouting to psych out the enemy, the enemy were overtaken with dread, and they fled the battle. The amplified version of the verse that follows:
5 For every [tramping] warrior’s war boots and all his armor in the battle tumult and every garment rolled in blood shall be burned as fuel for the fire.
This speaks of intense warfare, and made me understand that the plans of the enemies of God will be defeated, their weapons confiscated, and used to supply energy for the conquering army. At this time in history, during this embattled election, the vision tells me that the monies, strategy, and capital wielded by those who oppose God, and seek to continue the Baby Holocaust will be captured and their means of battle will be taken and burned. Since watching the WWI film, They Shall Not Grow Old, I have been praying for mercy for our nation to escape a civil war. This message of encouragement from the Lord describes a situation where the Lord intervenes and stops the evil plans against our families, children, and nation. That’s what we’re praying for.
The next part of Isaiah 9 leads up to the proclamation of the long awaited culmination of all of history, the return of the King of K
6 For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity], Prince of Peace.
So, those who conspire to destroy babies and children, who traffic in evil and crime, will give up their weapons to fuel their conquerors’ cities? Wealth and power will be seized and transferred? This will end the suffering of a million baby Americans each year, and many children who suffer from our national perversions in human trafficking and more. And as we near Christmastime, the time of joyful singing of the Hallelujah Chorus and the Messiah, we believe God to show His mighty hand as He stands up to the genocide and to the evildoers, and He shows Himself strong. Will you join us in prayer for our nation and our world?
